Snow Day with the Piorun's

Okay so Dane, I, and the kids love our good friends Mike, Ashley, and Andrew Piorun. They are the sweetest family you could ever meet and we all decided to go up to the snow. We left about 7:00 in the morning and we had to stop for breakfast and gas and then of course I held everyone up while i got a STARBUCKS!!! (I AM SO SORRY, STILL! I really didn't think it would take that long) Anywhoo....we went up to Boreal! The snow was ice because it is melting so it is hard as a rock! So since there wasn't any good snow we decided to go up the freeway to a rest area and play there. It really was a lot of fun. Koen however did not like the snow. He whined and complained since we stepped out of the car. In fact as soon as we got out he pointed to the car and say "car, bye bye" it was truly pathetic. His best buddy Andrew liked the snow a whole lot more. Although they both mostly enjoyed eating it together. Emmaleigh on the other hand loved it, unfortunately that only lasted for about 30 minutes and she was done. I would totally do it again but maybe next time go earlier in the season and also have good snow clothes and boots for the kids because I really think that was half of the reason they didn't like it too much. The best part of the day was on the way home we stopped in Colfax and had lunch at The Pizza Factory. It was a really fun time and I am glad we went. Ellie of course stayed behind with Auntie Tina. Enjoy the pics.

OUCH!

I know I am way behind and most of you have heard about Emmaleigh's arm. Here is what happened.......Emmaleigh fell off one of her really good friends back while playing horsey and she injured her elbow. We thought it wasn't a big deal so I threatened to spank her if she didn't stop crying and over reacting but that didn't work so I knew she was really hurt. I took her to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where I got to sit in the ER, with neither of us having eaten since breakfast, from 1:30 until almost 5:00 while they "fixed" her arm. They started by saying they thought she had a buckle fracture. After 4 sets of x-rays with a very nasty technician they said she broker her elbow and that was the problem but what was worse was it looked like there may be osme injury to her growth plate. So she was put in a splint until she could see the orthpaedic surgeon. She saw Dr. Gotham and he put her in a hot pink cast and she will have that taken off on April 7th. If her arm has not healed by then she may still have to have surgery. Below are some pics of our experience.
